Losing?

I hesitate to think it, never mind say it but…I think I might be losing. Gasp! My clothes are looser. My boobs are no longer oozing out of my bra like the Blob chasing Steve McQueen. I feel…better? I’m not sure what it is to feel better, so it is taking me a while to recognize it.

I still do not have the courage to get on a scale. If I really knew how much I actually weighed, I would have to go lie down in traffic.

I am swimming a lot. I was on the swim team in college, in the Pliocene Era, and loved to backstroke. So that is what I am doing now. It is so calming, I lose count of the laps and just keep going. I learned stretching exercises for the pool from the personal trainer that have really helped my flexibility and the spasticity in my limbs.

So all this stuff is helping. Who’d a thunk it!?

I don't know. If your clothes are feeling looser and you are feeling better altogether, then what does it matter what the scale says?

We are so weight obsessed, but if you are exercising and eating right, I don't think you need to worry about numbers.

I TOTALLY agree Heather!

That is until I weigh 130 pounds again. Then I will carry a scale around with me and weigh myself for strangers. lol

And thanks, Jessica! It's nice to see you here. :)

I haven't weighed 130 lbs since like...2nd grade. lol Your shame weight is probably my goal weight.

But seriously, whatever makes you feel good. Good luck!

Having scale to use to beat yourself up is no good, but it can be a helpful tool to help you see your success. Or a tape measurer - something that you can use to see how far you've come.

It can end up being a great motivational tool. Don't use it for self-torture! Don't weigh or measure any more than once a week.

It's your choice, obviously, but I can't stand not knowing. If I measure and I've lost 3 inches even if I can't see it, it makes me that much more determined to keep going.

Heather, a tape measure is such a good idea! Thanks for the tip.

P.S. - I am getting so confused between you and V of S Heather!!! I have to check each time to see which Heather I'm talking to!! lol We have a plethora of Heathers.
