All Done

Finished the first quilt I've made in almost 20 years. Working full time, I never had the time to sew the way I liked. It has been so gratifying to get back to a hobby I loved.

I think it came out very pretty:

Onto the next project. I have a massive co-pay for my new electric wheelchair and my roof is leaking in a way no one can either discover or fix. So to raise money for both these financial black holes, I am offering custom quilts through my Etsy shop,http://stitchesthroughtime.etsy.com

Fun stuff!

Very pretty. Pat yourself on the back. Or get someone to do it for you. I can't reach my back anymore since my elbow surgery.

That is beautiful, what a lovely quilt you made, I am sure you will do well in your Etsy store. I know all about leaky roofs, trying to figure mine our right now too.

TM: Thank you!! I can't reach y back either since breaking my shoulder, but why don't we virtually pat each other on the back for just being so wonderful in general. :)

Alix: From your mouth to God's ears!! Thanks or stopping by!

Jen: Thank you, I'm glad you like the quilt. Ugh, you're dealing with roof stuff too?!?! What a nightmare. One of the worst things for me is so shallow. I love the rain, love the sound of it when I am curled up with a cup of tea and a book. I can't even enjoy that now because the minute it starts raining I know it means trouble. :(

Thanks for your comments all!!

Love the fabrics! I am currently making a quilt for my best friend - her daughter is coming home from Afghanistan in July. She's a medic for the Air Force. I love making quilts...but there never seems to be enough time, huh?

Hi Alterity! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I love those fabrics too. I hadn't planned on making a quilt for my new grandbaby so soon, but when I saw these I couldn't resist.

That is so sweet of you to make a quilt for your friend. That will be a treasure for her.

You're right, there is never enough time to do what we love. :)

Very sweet quilt. Ialways wanted to try doing one, but all I know how to do is crochet.

Thanks VetTech!! And thanks for stopping by!

If you can crochet, you can do a simple patchwork quilt. It is as easy as matching up lines and putting the pieces together. The only slightly tricky part is making sure your four corners match, but someone who knows how could show you in a few minutes.

Maybe I'll do a tutorial. That could be fun.

THAT is GORGEOUS!!!!

I am in awe of you gals who can do that stuff. I used to cross-stitch, but I have become too impatient to do it now. Quilts are an art form all their own. Wow.

Yeah, I am really happy the quilt turned out so nicely. I love the feel of the flannel too, it's so soft.

Apparently the cat thought so also, as it is covered with black hairs. lol Time to put it away for the new baby. After de-hairing it. lol
